Lexus bluetooth sucks! (rant)

Have a Lexus GS 450 and a 8800 Cingular Blackberry. The bluteooth doesn't see each other at all. The old 8700c Blackberry works fine on the car. So gave Lexus a call. They said only 4 model works...wth? Shouldn't bluetooth works regardless? All they told me is sorry, sir your device is not on the compatible list. arghhh

Anyone got this combo and got it working?
 
yeah theres no way they could only make it work on "4 models" if they are using a "normal" bluetooth adapter. thats pretty wierd. try asking the dealership? mabye they have had other customers complain. and if this is true, i'm sure theres some other complaints out there.
 
I have a TL and I think just about every BT phone out there works but not all report the signal or battery strength to the car display. Some have other issues, I remember hearing of an LG phone that wouldn't accept the hangup button from the car so you would have to do it manually.
 
That's why I specifically chose a new bluetooth-equipped phone that was listed on my car's compatibility list. It was actually pretty hard when I was also stuck with the requirement of no camera... ended up going with an L2 from Motorola. Now I just need to wait for it.
