while picking up some logitech z360s/540s, saw some lexmark z35 printers clearanced for $17.48 at target in chicago. great deal for a cheap printer. of course with target clearance, ymmv. they also had some lexmark z23 or something, but they were more.

Target clearance things vary. Some deals are hot, some are bad (IE they don't know how to price their CF64 cards at all...).

What was hot though at Target on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. West Palm Beach was a bluetooth kit with two USB bluetooth adapters for $50. (I think it's hot cuz I've only seen one for $50 before).

Please do your homework on the cost of ink before purchasing lexmark. Their ink carts tend to be very expensive. ($29.99 blk: $34.99 clr)

Well, the Z23s are on clearance in my area. Half off for $25. The Z35s are regularly priced.

The ink on these is normally more then a new printer, and they only give one half filled color cart with most of their printers (no black cart at all).

The Z35 that went 75% off is the one that comes with the free Kodak paper and software.

There's a thread in the forum re the Logitech Cordless Access Duo for 29.xx after rebate and coupon at OD. Target has it on clearance NOW for 14.98 (75% off). It too just dropped today.

Not true. Of the 22 z model printers, only 6 come with one cartridge. The rest have both cartridges and they are full-size. The all-in-one models also come with both and the P707 photo printer has a high resolution photo cartridge and a regular color cartridge.

Yes, new cartridges are expensive, but I have had no trouble refilling them. If you watch the deals you can, as Dan2 says, just get a new printer for much less than the cost of new cartridges. (I have a Z45SE - it has both full-size cartridges - waiting in the closet which cost $9.98.)
