I dunno whether to post this in OS or General Hardware. I have a USB Lexmark z13 printer which I'm having problems installing in Redhat 9. Can anyone help? I downloaded the drivers, but it gives me an error message saying "service-error-service-unavailable."
What printing system does red hat use by default. It should use cups, which comes with out of the box support (well with the rpms) for a massive number of printers. You shouldn't have to download drivers for your printer. This is a local printer right? Make sure that you've configured it that way if it is. I really don't have hands on experience with red hat so in effect I've made quite a few blank guesses. :/
CUPs generally has a nifty web interface. Do you see anything if you point your browser to http://localhost:631 ?
