Leveling "kits" in Battlefield 3

Anyone know how to get points for "kits"? Ive been wanting to unlock stuff on the Assault class and am not sure if there is a way to get more kit specific points. The only way I know how to get kit points is just to play it during the round and you get 200 points or whatever it is. But is there a way to get more then that?

Capping flags, kills, etc counts toward the class, only actual kills with a weapon count toward weapon attachment unlocks.

You do not get points toward your infantry class for stuff done while in vehicles.

Yea, anything you do on foot while gameplay is happening gets you points towards your kit. Revive people and put heal kits down all the time. Stay alive though. Healing kits will net you a lot of points in the right places on rush.

If you know what you're doing though, the m320 is great at breaking up defenses and clearing jeeps.

id have to agree, eng went super fast, however the damn AT mines giving me 4000 points per game prob had something to do with it

Maintenance adds up ridiculously fast. The squad of my friends and I are so good there's never anyone to revive. =p

I've played 99% Engie and this is the first BF game in which I've rarely had a chance to repair things. Most people just drive off and don't even give you a chance to repair. Probably because I'm just trying to repair random people I play with that have no idea I'm trying to repair.

Haha... that is true. Random asshole engaging tank speeds forward away from me repairing. Okay... good luck with that buddy.

It depends on the kit.

If you want to level Assault/Support quickly, join a Damavand/Metro map; find the point where each team is camping chokepoints, and spam health or ammo pickups. As Assault, if you have the underslung grenade launcher, just spam it always; if Support sometimes just lay down fire (full 100-200+ clips) into a chokepoint for free suppression points.

Engineer is harder, unless you have a friend. Repairing a tank constantly with a friend (or someone that can hear you) can net alot of points. Repair is key... I've had 9 repair patches in one map, in addition to kills from the MG/etc.

Recon; you are pretty much screwed from being any type of support (ie doing something non-sniper for points). Using the T-Ugs gives no points, the Soflam is worthless except in rare cases of team participation/unlocks, and the MAV from constant/intelligent use amounts to 4 kills worth of points if used an entire map. Kills are the bread and butter of levelling Recon.

The infantry classes aren't that hard to level up. Now try leveling the jet or attack helicopters its like almost impossible for me.

I found paddling people and tossing med kits everywhere does a lot to raise my assault class. I'm leveling my Shotgun now though, I got the laser sight and it's a ton of fun with grenade rounds. I want to get the street sweeper though, BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!
