whats the amount of tax added to purchases in NYC?

im possibly buying a Fuji S9100/9600 and its $399. is the tax about 8%? i need to know so i know if its cheaper to buy in the US or just get it here in the UK

very high, at least 8% probably 9% with locality tax too. (Upstate NY is a bitch too, 9.25% combined tax on sales

In Quebec, the combined federal and provincial tax is about 14%.
