I would consider the $750 Star Trek convention, my daughter wants to go to one of those anyway. :p

Wow the counter is going up quick!

yeah, it's crazy, I'm in for an autographed headshot? Why not?

Edit: Damn. The 100 dollar headshots are sold out? Now would need to drop 250? Daaammnn.. well, it's a great cause and it's tax deductable? Maybe I should put my money where my mouth is and drop 250 on a worthy causes, rather than another video game CF projecting (I'm looking at you SC.. PoE (PE).. and T:ToN).

Wow. Already have half a mil in mere hours. Reasonably sure he's going to make it in 35 days. :p

Watched the 6 minute video. Definitely teared up and then laughed out loud at the cameo at the end. In for 250. Also, in the 6 minutes it took to watch the video, another 20k was raised. Nice.

Man I was surprised how quick it's gone up. I didn't realize RR was such a big deal to people lol, I remember seeing a few episodes as a kid but I don't think it ever struck much of a chord with me.

I was born in 1987 and I watched it religiously. It was up there with sesame street, The Magic School Bus and Wishbone.

When did this thing start?

So at this rate, I'm thinking we'll see at least 15 minutes of decent CGI per episode. :D

I know if they don't reach their goal on kickstarter they don't get a cent, even if they're a dollar short. But what about the money that goes over? Do they get to keep money over the goal? If so, why not just set the goal for a buck and keep everything after to be safe?

I don't think a lot of people would donate to a Kickstarter that didn't put a realistic number up there. A Kickstarter with a $1 goal screams scam, unless it's a charity or something.

The goal is the minimum needed for the project to be accomplished. If you set your goal at $1 then you are saying that with anything over $1 you will deliver your product (and rewards associated if you have that set up).

This, although there was that band that kickstarted their lunch for the lulz. Set a goal of $35 and got $325, although they did offer decent rewards for what it was.
