letters not appearing on aim?

My friend keeps iming me on aim and I cannot see what she is saying. She can see my words just fine, everyone else can see hers too...and no, she doesnt have her font color set to white....any ideas?

It may be a corrupt font or something similar. If the font immediately before the system font in the load process is corruped then your system font -- or whatever the default AIM font is -- will not show on the screen. There's an option to ignore font codes and display only a certain font on the screen. Try using that and see what happens. You also may have to sort through the font folder for a corrupt font. I believe there's freeware out there that will do this automatically, though I don't have any links.

I can see everyone else's just fine...maybe I should just uninstall and reinstall

Try what I said first. It may just be a corrupt file. Now that I think about it AIM usually uses the font with the name closest to the one your friend is using. Ask your friend to switch to a different font if you can't figure out AIM and see if you can talk to him then.

Would somebody post a link to software that'll diagnose corrupt fonts?
