<< Letterman's a freaking bore, and ABC execs had their heads up their collective asses for even considering the change, let alone making it public. Nightline makes money -- just not as much as Letterman's show, but there are other advantages to having an institution with the credibility of Koppel and Nightline. It goes on the books as "good will" (really), and no airhead comic can bring that to a major network's news operation. >>
Bah, I would like to see you do his job. If he was such a "freaking bore", explain how the audience is always full, viewership is excellent, and CBS did NOT want to loose his ass.
