Had that happen to me at my old job. Told me I had a raise, I waited, waited, waited, waited, and three months later finally gave up waiting and resigned. Much happier now.

Same here. The board of directors said they were reviewing salaries and I would be getting an increase. This was in December 05 and I haven't seen anything yet. Hard to complain because I am in line to get the biggest shareholders bonus I have ever seen in the next two months, but it still frosts me to be promised a raise and it doesn't happen.

I'd have to second this guy.

in most cases if not all I agree, but there is also the other side of the coin...it is much more difficult to find a better job while working fulltime...and all too often you end up holding out hope that things will get better thus prolonging the inevitable...or falling back into the miserable status quo.

Sounds like you are trapped in hell. I agree, this might be the time to just make a quick exit. I've been there before. So bad that my attitude got so bad at my job that I ended up getting fired before I got a chance to quit! Ha! :D Anyway, even getting fired was a relief, I eventually found a much better job and I'm happier. It's not worth it being stuck in a bad situation, sometimes you just have to say screw it, and leave.

It's your dream, dream it you fvckin dreamer!

I have held 6 figure jobs and NEVER wrote a letter of resignation. You obviously hate these people.
