I have an AZIO MGK1 mechanical keyboard and the letter G suddenly stopped responding about Half the time. I have to press it multiple times to get a proper response reading.

I use air duster on my Keyboard pretty often. Not sure what it could be, I can't afford a new one for now. I have 1 year warranty, should I RMA or is there any other solution I can do?

Worth a call to see if they will honor your warranty. They may ask you to send back the old one, so that means you need a box, shipping label, postage ... That keyboard runs about $75 (on sale now) at Newegg

Well I took out the G cap and pressed down the switch and its more responsive now. Still doesn't work flawless but its way better. Guess I'll call them and see. Guess I'll spend a week with no computer due to lack of keyboard lmao Literally broke can't buy a new one.

Sorry was distracted: EDIT: I took of the G Cap and pressed down the switch and blew with air duster in the gap. Now it seems more responsive.

Could have been sticky due to the need to clean it. I love my mechanical keyboards.

Stop trying to clean dust by using high pressure blowing air. This blows/embeds dust and debris into mechanisms. (True for many things including keyboards, cameras & things using small motors).

Vacuum instead.

If they don't honor the warranty, keep in mind that you have nothing to lose; most mechanical keyboards use standardized switches that you can order in small quantities and replace yourself. Some are removable, others are soldered on but they're pretty straightforward.

Might be worth taking it apart and having a look-see.

Get yourself a cheap backup keyboard. Even it's $5 keyboard, it's worth a lot more when one of your primaries go down.

This. Always have a spare.

Also, some mechanical keyboards have removable switches (some easier to remove than others, so don't damage it if you're still in warranty). You could swap the G switch with a lesser used key, like Scroll Lock or something.

I do not know anyone who has ever used the Scroll Lock key for anything. Caps Lock, yes, Number Lock, yes.

It has it's uses but GUIs kinda made it redundant. It still works in Excel (scroll worksheet without changing selection.)

It also is an effective "Stop playing this game now" button for Mechwarrior 4. Although they might have eventually fixed that particular issue, I don't recall.

I think vacuum cleaners are fine for the keyboard. Its probably abit of dirt which entered the switch and causing it to malfunction although I would've expected it to chatter rather than completely stop working. I would hold down on the switch with a toothpick and suck out any dirt with a vacuum.

Opening up the switch might be possible depending on how the switches are mounted. As a last resort you can replace switches by desoldering them.
