If you didnt, mail them a letter back saying "fuck off".

Honestly though, they cant do anything to you...

If they attempt to interrupt your service you can contact the BBB and FCC.

Sorry, I'll stop using your wireless.

If they are just forwarding a "Cease and desist" letter, you shouldn't have to worry about legal action being taken against you. Even still, you should probably call up and complain that you're being falsely targeted. Maybe threaten to switch to another provider (FiOS or DSL + satellite) if they don't clear things up.

Ok, what does the letter say? They are going to cut off your service? They are turning your name over to authorities? They are going to give you a wedgie?

Start downloading movies. If they're going to accuse you of anything, you might as well be guilty of it.

Don't just download any movie, but download porn w/ the most obnoxious titles, so when you get accused of illegal downloads, you can ask them to read the movie titles back to you... and LOL @ the person.

Ask the to provide proof. Tell them to show you the logs showing when and what.

yup

Also ask them to verify that you were the person sitting at the computer at that moment in time when/if any "evidence" can be given.

I've read the wiki made buy Fox from the peerguardian thing.. It seems that nothing has happened thus far to anyone. And something about the likelyhood of being sued lower than winning the lottery.

I am just angry at the fact that i didn't do it, and yet they're trying to rape me for it.

What is going to happen to these illegal downloading networks in the future, because I could very well understand why people don't want to pay the rip-off prices. Is everyone who download illegaly going to become uber hackers to hide from the government?

My understanding is that ISP's are routinely forwarding such notification as received from the MPAA. If something is going to come of it (though it prolly shan't) then it can be confronted at that time. So unless some action is requested and/or demanded on your part then simply endevour to avoid any justification for your ISP receiving them in the future. Obviously they would prefer not to be burdened with the effort nor have to lose a customer. In a sense, they are on your side but are obliged by legal requirements regardless of the validity of the claims.

Somebody didn't click the links I posted. :(

The links were to separate court cases that were dropped because the defendant asked for evidence that they were the actual person that had committed the alleged offense. The RIAA/MPAA didn't even allow the case to be heard because they are afraid to have the precedent set that they actually have to prove that you are guilty instead of just accusing you.

Tell them you are only connected to their network so the illegal movies must be on their system.
