Blue Coral, $5 a side @ Dollar General. Tried the $20/ side premium Bosh and they barely made it a year, thinking about going the Rain-X route, haven't used it for a long time but IIRC it did work well last time I treated the windows.

Rain-X Wipers were my goto wipers before the PIAA were discovered. I understand that $90 is a lot for wipers, I get that, but they last a long time and they are just that much better.
 
I might have to try those Si-Tech wipers. Its only ~$57 for a pair on Amazon. I was confused how you had paid so much until I realized you're from up north.
 
I used to buy bosch icons and similar type blades thinking they were the best. But I purchased a set of cheaper Michilines/Rain-X with the leaf spring type blades and they are on their second year without issue and work well.

Expensive wiper blades imo have hard diminishing returns. I spent 16$ and they last over a year if your pair of 91$ blades only lasted 2 years I don't see any ROI with that. My 2cents
 
Just bought a pair of Bosch icons for $50/pair. Rain-X were actually a buck or two more expensive.

I hope these were worth the $20 premium over micro edges...
 
I had to look it up... I bought a pair of Valeo 600 Series blades for $24 almost three years ago (Feb. 2013) and I haven't found the need to replace them yet. The rubber has not degraded and they don't leave any streaks when they wipe; you'd almost think they were new.
 
I had Rain-X ones on my car that had lasted about... a year I guess? Replaced them with a pair of Bosch ICONs today.

Minnesota winters, I think, are rough on wiper blades.

The leaf spring ones don't seem to contour very well to my housemate's car's windshield. ('08 TSX, although I assume an Accord owner would have the same problem.) The driver side one always lifts away from the glass for the rightmost 2-3".


Of course, she's also buying the cheapest possible wiper blades, because she's cheap. A $20 springy-blade might work better than a $6 one.
 
Again, the SuperTech (Anco made) ones are $3.88 a piece at Walmart. I replace them once a year. Even if your expensive blade last 3 years it's not under $12. LOL
 
Some Bosch variant I grabbed at Walmart. They don't have to contend with anything here but rain and the car doesn't get driven a tremendous amount.
 
Beam blades. Rock Auto closeout. The first one is no longer perfectly clear, but it still is adequate for the passenger side. One that I installed later on the driver side is still wiping like a champ.
 
My daily right now is also my off road vehicle, so since the wipers are often used to remove mud and debris from the windshield when off roading i buy the cheapest wipers possible, and replace them every 6 months.
 
The new wiper blades for my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid are $52 for the pair. These are Rain-X Latitude wipers. The OEM blades seems much better quality. They are contoured I think for less wind noise or maybe so they don't lift off the windshield at high speed. I may return the complete wiper arm and try just the insert.

The inserts are much harder to find these days. O'Reilly has them for $15 for the pair. You do have to order them and they deliver to the store the next day. I will try that. I may end up with a better quality wiper for $37 less. BTW I could not find any wiper refills at, Pep boys, or Autozone. I did see them at Napa

I go with Rain-X. Any new blade will clear the windshield, but I've found the Rain-X to be absolutely silent. Wife's RAV4, you can't hear the wiper motor, on my Jetta, I can hear the wiper motor, but not the blades on the glass. $30 a pair.

These worked out pretty well on my wife's car. Lasted a couple of years. The only slightly annoying thing was the windshield treatment you do before hand, not so much the actual application as the wipers creating dark lines at the end of their sweeps, just need to buff them off until it stops.
 
I'm going to try using refills this time. Another guy in a Hyundai forum made a good point; the OEM blades are frequently better made and match the contour of the windshield better. They sit down lower on the windshield and may have less aerodynamic drag. For those reasons, keeping the OEM blade and just replacing the refill is a better idea.
 
Tried two types of Bosch including the Icon a few years ago, they both left a decent sized circular spot on the driver's side that did not get cleared. Tried a Rain-X latitude, did something similar. But the Rain-X quantum work perfect. You can't hear these things either. They have lasted a few years because the first two years winters were mild with almost no snowfall, and the car's been garaged the last 18 months. Plus I don't drive a ton. I'm sure everything will vary per vehicle model and year.
