Hmmm, I thought the topic was grunge and grunge spin-off bands. For bands like the Cult, Pixies and Depeche Mode leap to mind.

For Progressive Bands, A Perfect Circle might be considered the Tool spin-off band, any group with Bruce Dickenson as singer (Iron Maiden, Dream Theater), Pink Floyd, and a number of other prog rock bands mentioned.

the soft bulletin is better than yoshimi.

I'm torn, but I really really like yoshimi.

He did mention TFL in his list...I thought it was weird in the middle of all that hard rock stuff...
