Let's talk RC boats

do you have somewhere to run it?

they are extremely fast from what i know. and the engines are expensive.

why not start off in RC cars? they are fun and can be run anywhere..

Nah, maybe $400 tops but they start at $65. They last a while anyway.

are you talking gas or electric engines?

i know for cars a decent engine is in the 150 + range.

electric is a different story.

RC cars arn't to much fun. Might do amonster truck though.

I can ru na boat i nthe summers. Basically another "toy" for the family vacation place. In laws have a second home in the adircondacs ... on a lake. The boat would reside there. A wooden model that goes slower is perfect. Electric would be OK due to this. Waves get up to about 1'-2' when it's windy.
 
I once built one that kinda looked like the African Queen. Ran off a live steam engine (sterno powered). I think the kit was made by Midwest Products. great fun!
