Inspired by the supernatural thread.

Try to explain a reoccuring nightmare. I know I have had one that I have been having since I was a kid. However I don't know if I can "explain" it in a way that you could understand the intensity.

I start off in a HUGE concrete room. It is as tall as it is wide, and I am the only person/thing in it. And then suddenly a LARGE beam falls, and then something the size of a needle falls. This continues on, I am never hurt but it is very intense and it is related to the contrast between large and small or something. I know not very freaky but it is when I have it. I probably have that dream once a year or so.

So tell me about yours..

I almost never have nightmares. I dream a lot and generally remember them, but I hardly ever have dreams where bad things happen. I only remember having one in the past year, and honestly I can't remember then last time I had one before that. I think it was before I started college. (>6 years)

When I was little there was one nightmare that really stood out. For one thing it recurred. It was also the only dream I ever had in black and white. Basically I would dream that a giant Frankenstein was chasing me.

the one i used to have as a kid:

i'm walking on a beach and run into the man and dog from Fraggle Rock. The dog starts chasing me and we end running through a wheat field. I look back and see a giant boulder (ie. Raiders of the Lost Ark) instead of the dog. I fall of the edge of a cliff and the boulder lands on top of me.

I then find myself on an operating table in the back room of a Sears, but i'm not awake. I can only hear people trying to "work" on me.

i would have that one about once a week.

I've always had one where it's a pure white room... a fan is spinning above me... then a meteor or boulder breaks through the wall and is behind me as I'm running. I then break through the wall and I see some person wearing a cape. The person turns around the it's face is just a sea urchin with spines. I always wake up at this point. Pretty bizarre, I usually get this dream when I'm having a fever or am sick.

Don't have any recurring nightmares. I hardly ever even have nightmares. My last one was more than a year ago I think. Something about zombies attacking me in a barn.

I have two. One is just different iterations of your basic zombie dream. Zombies everywhere, humans sneaking around trying to survive, that sort of thing.

The other one is people digging up the cemetery across the street so they can move the graves and build houses there.

There's only one that I've had ever since I was 6 years old or so. I have it now a once or twice a year.

I see myself from above (as a little girl) in bed with the blankets pulled up to my chin very neatly. Like someone tucked me in and perfectly folded the blanket back. The weird thing is I'm laying down on a mattress on top of another mattress on top of another mattress, etc. The mattresses are neverending and in the dream it's as if I'm as high up as the top of a skyscraper.

Then it changes to a scene of the Statue of Liberty like I'm there looking up at it.

And then I wake up and am crying and really hot.

Weird.

The only 'nightmare' I ever remember happening was I was falling down a big spiraling tube. Hasn't happened for a while.

...Oh, and a long time ago, I used to have dreams that people would be talking on the phone, and the phone would get really large and start yelling and trying to eat people :Q

Another strange dream quirk of mine is that whenever I defend myself in a dream, I use throwing knives, never a gun or anything like that.
