Let's say you were a elementary school student and your school was getting a new computer lab

I'm fishing for out-of-the-box ideas here. I'm designing a new elementary computer lab for the school I work at and we've nailed down how many PCs we need and projectors, screens, etc. but I'm looking for a few new things to put in there. Things like video cameras and Adobe Premiere Elements, digital cameras and Photoshop, you get the idea.

So pretend you're back in grades 1-8 and tell me what you would want to do in a brand spanking new computer lab and what would make you look forward to using it.

I work IT in a school system and we've been adding active boards in them. They're pretty nice if the teacher knows how to utilize them.

You mean like SmartBoards? We have 5 of them already, that's a good idea. We might consider putting a new one in there.

Hmm.. I dont know if I would want one in elementary school but what about those tablets that you can draw on that are hooked up to the computer?

i would say smartboards are the best addition. honestly, i don't think computers are really necessary for kids. i'm not a fan of OLPC because it's going to build a technological dependence for future generations, IMO.

we had fun with smartboards in HS (first time i had a class w/ them) :)
