I'm sure it would. I don't know for a fact, but it just seems that the way things are/are going, it would be illegal.

Wouldn't you somehow have to burn it onto a Blu-ray or HD-DVD disk though?

Of course it would. The studio went through additional effort to deliver the HD product.

Suppose you buy a base model Honda Civic and later decide you like the fully equipped Honda Accord. You already have the Civic, so is it legal to go to the dealership and steal the Accord just because you like the newer features and you already bought a Honda vehicle?

yeah, i don't remember any tradeup from VHS to DVD promotions

they want to sell you the same content over and over and over and over, that is how corps drive profits

illegal. now if they put out a sh*t dvd with sh*t video quality then double dipped with a new special edition they finally bothered with quality transfer i'd say it would be semi justified.
