Theoretically, of course.

Let's say you, unaware, do a hard drug. As to how you would do it unknowingly, I'm not sure, but thats not the point. Let's say you're drunk beyond belief and you don't remember anything.

Would you get addicted to the substance, even if you have no recollection of even doing it?

Even if you did, you wouldn't know it was cocain/heroin you were craving, so it wouldn't matter.

No, you wouldn't. And like the poster above me said, even if you did, how would you know what you're addicted to?

no, its the users CHOICE for them to take the substance that would get them addicted. if somebody takes something with out knowing they might not even know they are on anything, well... except for heroin.

Thats what I was thinking, but isn't the addiction just a chemical reaction?

For certain substances you can become physically dependent on, that would be a close enough approximation. IMHO, you can become addicted to such substances even if you don't knowingly take them, by becoming addicted to the foodstuff that the drug was put in.

Why two threads?

Does no one here read the fvcking thread before they post. The SECOND post in this thread says that my Firefox got messed up and I thought one post didn't go through. WTF.

i've actually heard that a person does not get addicted to heroin after one use, its when they start doing it on a regular schedule that their body expects it.

If the drug is a narcotic, it can create a chemical dependency in the body. However, after one use I'd guess it's highly unlikely. On the other hand, if the drug is merely psychologically addicting, then most definitely not.
