Let's say you are interviewing a female...

L

Lola

... would you notice if she was/was not wearing pantyhose with a conservative length skirt?

I ask because technically it is unprofessional to not wear pantyhose when wearing a skirt/dress, but it is going to be quite warm the day of my interview and to be honest, I HATE PANTYHOSE and would rather not wear them.

Also, ladies, should i just wear them?

PS, skirt length: below the knee, with closed toed high heels.

I wouldn't notice. I think pantyhose are silly.

Unless you have attention-drawing furry legs maybe..

screw the pantyhose, get some self supporting thigh-highs, or, better yet, thigh highs and a garter belt. oh yeah!

I don't like pantyhose, personally. It adds age to the woman; too old-fashioned.

Just remember to shave. Especially if you try crossing your legs.

Best response. I don't even need to read the rest of the thread.

If you dress appropriately, I don't think it matters either way. For an interview, dress smart, dress right. The pantyhose won't matter. Closed toe shoe is best of course. If you must wear the hose, go as light a color as possible then, that way, you'd play it safe. That is more or less a women thing to notice. You could wear *Thigh High* panty hose. Hose that only go up to your thighs, cooler on top for you. Yet sexy too. Your hubby will like that look. ;)

When I'm interviewing someone I notice if their style of dress is appropriate for work. I don't think pantyhose would have much of an effect on my opinion either way. For women, showing too much skin or cleavage gets negative marks from me. I care about finding an employee that can do the job and will be honest. A woman that shows a lot of skin sends the message that she's trying to use her looks to get the job, instead of her skills.

I don't know whether to verbally spank him for his misogyny or nod in agreement

Umm, that's not misogynistic at all. Better recheck your definitions.;)

(Serious reply alert.)

Whenever someone interviews for a professional-type job in my group (roughly 75 professionals in the group, with commensurate turnover), I'm one of the people who interviews them. The chances of me noticing something like that is about 0.01%. And even if I did notice, I would not care.

Wear the stupid pantyhose. It's an interview.

I know, I know. But people do notice those things. Why take a chance?

Best of luck with the interview.

I would never notice because I think pantyhose are ugly as hell and honestly, I can't remember seeing a woman wear one...

Probably agreed.

Seriously, I don't have any sense of 'shoulds' and 'supposed to's', so I wouldn't care. I only look at qualifications and other actual factors when making any decisions.

The younger women I see don't wear pantyhose, usually the older women do. But if you are not wearing pantyhose please make sure you are shaven and smooth.
