Let's say I wanted to dye my natural black hair in blue...

Have any of the guys here, or girls even because I guess hair dye is pretty unisex in this regard, had any experience with any retail blue hair dyes that work on blue hair? Do I have to lighten my hair with bleach somehow?

Is my best chance just to go to a salon?

i tried blue once...i have black hair (asian) after bleaching, and then using blue dyes, it turned out green.....go figure...

uhm... if you want it to look like it was done with koolaid, do it at home, if you want it to look half-way decent, pay the extra to get it done. it will be worth it.

I used to see people with green hair all the time. To think, I thought those people aimed for green hair. :laugh:

i used to dye my hair blue for swimming. i'd just get the strongest hair bleach they sell (you can get it at a hair supply shop), bleach it two or three times (you probably won't get it lighter than a dark blonde), and then use permanent blue dye, which you can also get at a hair supply shop.

Hah, I'm 16. =p Traditional phase of wanting to be different.

Also, to the guys who think that they're awesome and people who use hair dye are whatever, kudos to you. Now get out of the thread.

And gentobu, I was considering that but eh... I have a hard time keeping my eyebrows furrowed like that for a long time.

I do believe Japanese guys dye their hair too. I am eastern Asian, let's leave it at that.

Otherwise, I don't see why everyone's so set against a different hair colour. It's hardly a sign of disrespect, unless you take offence due to the colour of someone's head. And anyways, I'm trying for the dark blue, so that it's just noticeable.

Ah forget it, I'm just going to be reprimanded considering I'm 16. I can't possibly bear rational thought. -_-;;
