I've been activly, for the last month or so visited a site called Ecology Fund. There you can for free save some nature by pressing buttons and only by pressing buttons have thousands of people have saved:

1,156,417,063 sq. ft. or
26,547.7 acres or
10,619.1 hectares or
41.5 sq. miles
of land!

There are of course teams also, and I have made one for Anandtech. The name is TeAm Anandtech if your wondering.
seti@netherlands has saved already 2,000,000 sq. ft. which is quite nice compering to the 5000+ Ive "saved".

So please come and join the good cause and save some serious land so we can beat some a$$.

I have actually been doing something like this for some time now. You may want to check this out as well. I'm not sure if they have it set up for groups but I have been doing all these projects as an individual for years now.

Well on the first day we saved at least 1160 sq. ft. 😀.

Still some work to do until we get to be the #1 🙂.

Btw, the thing that you press a button and then the site shows some banners that sponsor the site and that way they get money. You can press the buttons once a day.

Probably that. I think the land just changes to nature conservation. No hunting or cutting trees that kind of stuff.
