Ok since my last thread had 300+ views and like 3 replies.. i will remake this thread and ask why i cant recieve some support lol.

Here is my setup

I dont know how to overclock the memory and i dont even know if im doing this correctly... I raised the FSB up to 260 and set the htt multi to 3. That makes the htt at 780 and its supposed to stay under 1000 right?

If someone could please tell me what else i can do for better performance it would be appreciated. Like i said... i havent touched the memory.

The temps are somewhat worrying to me but im not sure what the limits are... here are my temps
Core Temp
========

core 1 38c idle 53 c load (orthos)
core 2 33c idle 51 c load (orthos)

Speedfan (Load)
=======

Temp 1: 41c
Temp 2: 68c
Temp 3: 51c
Core: 53c

Any other programs i can use to see my temps?
ntune doesnt show anything but gpu temps :(

On to my video card

620/1000 seems to run perfectly. I havent tried to raise it anymore because im afraid of burning it up. The idle temps are 56-60c and when i run ati tool and scan for artifacts.. it hits almost 70c !! Is that bad? Im sure video games have to raise it a little higher. I have no artifacts or anything... games run perfectly. But i dont want to break anything :)

Thanks for the help guys.

Noob? I know how to overclock and know to post questions in one thread and not start another. And if you searched and read other similar threads, you would have the answers to your questions. The mods will lock this thread. Enjoy.

Whenever you overclock your cpu bus you also overclock your memory bus. It looks like you are running it 390.5 which is ddr2 781 and is right below your rated speed. Which is good. The one thing I would do is change the CAS lat, RAS to CAS, RAS precharge, and cycle time to 4-4-4-12 in your bios. this will decrease your latency and increase performance more than increasing the memory multiplier which if you did would give you over ddr2 1000 which would probably be unstable. Don't increase your video card clock any it is running plenty fast.

Thanks for the help :) But im not sure what timings are 4-4-4-12 There's plenty of timings to change :p

Your other thread has had 329 views and 22 replies. Which thread do you want to keep? Cause one has to go. And please be a little more courteous to other forum members.

So, let me know.

If you would read the overclocking guides, people wouldn't be so nasty, we don't like lazy people, this is the reason for the lack of help.

(Hint, right now its the post right above this one with the sticky)

About the memory clocks. Look at the cpu z report in the memory section and look for CAS latency, RAS to CAS, RAS precharge, and Cycle Time. You will see your timings are set at 5-5-5-15 if you lower the timings it will increase your speed, I recommend 4-4-4-12 timings. If you read in the stickies or do a google search on memory timings you can find some detailed guides on memory overclocking.
