So I bought The Orange Box on Steam today cause after trying the Portal:First Slice I've been itching to finish it off.

This will be the first time I've played Half Life 2, LOL....I remember playing the demo for the first one a long, long time ago but I never picked that one up either. I've played so many games yet didn't give one of the best a try, silly boy.

I'm liking it so far, I got through the long boat/bike level and just picked up the gravity gun.

Heh, I have yet to play HL2 Episode 1 or 2 (played the HL2 OC)...
If The Orange Box comes with it, checkout CS:Source zombie mod +. It is my favorite HL2 user made mod thus far.
Hope you enjoy HL2. If you want another great game that uses the HL2 engine, checkout Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. It is on steam and is a sweet FPS / RPG hybrid from the creators of Fallout 1 and 2.
