Let me show you what an assshole eBayer is

I sold some sticks of UV light to this guy off of ebay. He bid and won two units. I made a mistake on the shipment and shipped him one unit instead.

The delivery confirmation didn't register so he instantly requested my contact information and called me at work to get the details. Well, despite the delivery confirmation was beyond my control, I told him to wait 3 days and if he doesn't receive it, I will look into it.

Well the item showed up on Wednesday and he informed me of the missing unit. He called me again and I assured him that I would send him another one out at my expense.

That was fine until he called me again and told me that the kit was suppose to come with two light sticks and not one. I double check my items and noticed that he was right and that I had incorrectly listed the auction as a dual stick kit when there was only one.

I don't have any dual stick units so I told him that I would refund his entire purchase price and he can keep the single unit. This is what he had to say:

Delivery confirmation say this package is to be "expected" to mail the
first, but it has not been mailed according to the USPS web site, have
these
items been shipped?

Thanks for the reply, I will let you know when it get here. I am not
trying to be a "pest" or anything, just following up on things , Thanks again

I received the package today, but there is one slight problem you sent
me John Adle's order, not mine. John ordered one light kit, I ordered two.
I called you and left a message I will try to call you again later to
resolve this.

Dear computek.inc,

As I told you already you shipped me the "wrong package" it is missing one kit, also upon inspection of the "one" kit received, it is a single light cold cathode kit, not a dual stick as advertised in your auction. What You Will Receive: (Taken from outside box) Two 12" Cold Cathode UV light sticks Comes with Inverter Comes with ON/OFF switch Instructions

Thank you,

My reply

It is not that easy, I would like to receive what I purchased, I will
gladly send this item back to you seeing that it is NOT what I ordered. That
is bad business I won an item at auction and expect what I purchased, if you
do not follow through with the auction the way you are LEGALLY obligated to I
will take appropriate action with Ebay and Paypal, I have nothing but time
to do this and WILL, so either send me what I purchased or say GOODBYE to
that 100% feedback and HELLO to Ebay and Paypal enforcement. I have tried
to be as nice as possible seeing that YOU messed up don't make me take this
further.

Just so you know I am NOT BS'ing you, I have reported the situation to
Ebay by reporting this transaction ( or LACK of ) it a shame that someone is
so willing to put an extremely fast paying customer throgh this.

to quote you--
Non-Paying Bidder Policy: If you're not going to pay, don't bid. You're
wasting our time and all the other bidder's time. We will leave the
appropriate feedback against the Non-Paying Bidder as well as take the
appropriate measures to make sure he/she doesn't bid again.

YOU ARE BEING A NON DELIVERING SELLER AND WAISTING MY TIME, but going
after you for my items is worth every second forget feedback that is the
least of your worries, I can do more than that , and will do it for as long as
it takes.

I have filed complaints with Ebay, Square Trade and Paypal, I am leaving NEGATIVE feedback also if you do not correct YOUR mistake.

What happened to the refund you were going to send???
You "dropped the ball" on this one, not me. In five years of "Ebaying" this is the worst transaction ever, pretty bad all this BS and having to report this over a $15.00 auction but like I told you before I have nothing but time to do it. please advise.

I work 8AM to 5PM Mon thru Fri. I can't dedicate my entire day to tailor to his needs. At this point, I don't feel like refunding his asss. It's just so hard to believe the person that I spoke actually was a psycho.

Oh, transaction # and user id has been partially concealed to abide by the rules of this forum.

Seriously... I was with you til I saw you're not willing to refund his money. You now aren't giving him what he won, and not offering the refund you promised.

He's an asshole yes, but your customer service skills could use some work.

lol. some crazy people out there. just count your lost and refund him his money just so you don't have to listen to his crazy rants.

Yeah I'll refund him but you GOT TO ADMIT, I'm even nice enough to offer him a complete refund plus he gets to keep what I shipped. If someone wrote those to you AFTER you offered a refund, wouldn't you give it second thoughts? I need a way to play this out so I don't get screwed even more. I will issue him a check in the mail.

If it hasn't been posted, it's worth putting in the effort to prevent the neg (though 1 negative is far from the end of the world).

Yeah, doesn't seem the best buyer. Best advice would be: How would -you- like to be treated in this position?

Oh and this auction is for $15 and I gave him free shipping as well.

If I was in his position, I would thank the seller and move on. UV cold cathode lights are a abundant everywhere. I got something for free and I ain't complaining about it.

Oh no. He filed an Egay complaint against you. That means all of Jack Schitt, and Jack left town. We've all heard how Egay handles complaints....

WTF is wrong with this guy? You would think that he would be happy about the refund, but maybe there was a miscommunication between the two of you. You say that you were going to refund him and let him keep it, but maybe he didn't understand you. I don't see why he would spazz out over getting something for free.

I would refund the guy because I'm a nice guy 🙂 but this guy is a psycho.

If the only thing you've written to him is what you posted, then you need to put in more effort. You DON'T say anywhere, or even imply that he can keep the item and you will refund him his money. How about sending him more than a three line e-mail, since you DID screw up, twice.

But yes, he's being a bit psychotic, especially with the time he's giving you to respond.

i sure hope it wasn't your picture that said "Buy One Get One Free" 😉

but yeah a full refund is more than fair, he can just go and buy another set from ebay unless he really needed those lights asap for his expensive closet shrubs...

this guy sounds like a real tool(am i using this in the right context?)......He's being quite childish about it, while he is in the right...both of you could handle this situation a bit better eh?

Sounds sort of half-assed. How about complete sentences next time?

Wow, sorry to hear about that bad transaction. Sounds like that guy was in a "tizzy" for about 4 days - not sleeping nights, etc. while he wondered what happened to his extra light stick.

You forgot to post the link to the auction - so, we can give this gentleman a few comments of our own.

Yeah, you could have seriously been a bit more verbose. You told him you were refunding his money, you didn't tell him he could keep the other one, you didn't sound even the slightest bit apoligetic, you didn't really say much of anything... you SHOULD have written him a more detailed explanation of what happened, sounded at least a bit remorseful, and explained to him that you were intending to let him keep the wrong part and then refunded his $ right away.

I'm reminded of a Mark & Brian show a while back where the winner of some concert tickets was a real jerk. So they put the tickets in a diaper, and had one of the guys on the station take a crap in it, and then sent it to the winner...

The buyer in your auction seems to have more time than patience. Refund his money, write it off, and just put him on your DNT list (eBay allows you to set one up).
