i recommend not going skt 754 because it is really old. Go socket 939 and whenever you feel the need to upgrade you can upgrade to dual core. Everything else is good

I think he is just looking to upgrade the motherboard for a processor h e already has, that's why he is going socket 754 here.
 
Yeah! I already have a 3000+ pros and a 8500 ATI vid card, just wanted a new case, new vid card & MOBO! ABIT NF8 nVIDIA nFORCE3 seemed like a good O\C Board. I know the MEM is good. I was just curious as to what evreyone thought.
 
If I was going to buy all that, I think go ahead and throw a skt 939 cpu in there and get an nforce4 board/pci-e graphics card.

just me...

Edit: Then I'd sell the skt 754 cpu to offset the cost of the skt 939.

I understood that, It's just that I would have sold the skt 754 it and went all out skt 939/pci-e since he's also getting a graphics card.

Like I said, that's me, the higher cost of the s939 parts may be prohibitive in his situation.
