Let me get this straight...

Haven't ordered from NewEgg in a while.

In order to ship to a different address than the billing address of your CC, you have to have that address on file with your CC company? WTF? I've never seen another store do this before, or am I missing something?

You are missing something.

Just call up your CC and add the address.
Yeah, I must be. Now I remember I ordered something for a client a couple months ago and it took me like 5 cancelled orders to get it to bill to my work card and ship to the clients' address. I don't think I can add an address to my work card, I'm not an account manager.

Am I dense or is this oddly complicated?

Unless they have started this policy in the past week, I have not had that experience. I order a lot of stuff from Newegg, and always ship to my work address.

Well if the choice is one or the other, then you're dense. It's to prevent CC fraud.
I understand that if I submit the order with the wrong billing address, I have to call and add the address.

However, how exactly do you associate a billing address with a card in your Newegg account? Most etailers just ask you the billing address when filling out CC info, not the Egg.

Anyways, it's moot. I bought the item at eCost for 10% less and cheaper overnight shipping at eCost.
