When and how did you find out about AnandTech forums? How old are the forums?

BTW - I've got the rating feature enabled now, so vote away! Thanks :D

I found it by way of one of the coupon boards. Some of the "ladies" were talking about how great and funny you guys were, and I was sick of the ladies always bickering, so I came here.

The first review I really remember here at AnandTech was the Voodoo2 review.

Damn, that's been a while.

Napalm381 was always looking at them.

When made me look at the bodymodification thread and I just had to throw in my opinion on the thread. Been a member since then ;)

Ok, I first came to the forums in Januray this year, which I believe makes me a relative nebiew - despite the fact that I've been here for over 8 months. I actually came here when I had a question regarding voltage settings on a coppermine CPU. I didn't post much for the first month or so, but gradually things got moving and I started coming here on more of a regular basis :) I can't remember exactly how I found out about the forums, but I have a stange feeling it may have been someone from another messageboard who gave me the link...

AFAIK, AnandForums have been going in one form or another for over two years, probably longer in fact. Someone like Red Dawn or Russ will probably know this as they're the veterans around here so I believe :)

Found anandtech when it was a part of geocities back in the old days, then when the forums started I didnt think anything of it. Started the forums when we had UBB about a year ago.

I've read AnandTech for the past year, but I never even looked at the forums until this summer - I think it was sometime around the T-Bird launch.

My bookmark still says "Anand's Hardware Tech Page".:) Found the forums in early 98. I think it was running UBB 3.7 at the time.

When I was first looking for information on computers on the web, I stumbled across Tom's site. After weeks of not updating his site though, I began to look elsewhere and that's when I found AnandTech. His "morning update" posts kept me coming back, and although the forum link was always there, I never actually clicked on it until the day Anand mentioned that he had switched to UBB. That was about 4 years ago (I think?), and I've been a regular visitor ever since. :)

DaBoneHead knows how I like to wax philosophic, so he recommended it.

It's all his fault! :D

I've visited the main page for the last two years or so, but never clicked on the forums until I moved into the dorms last year. My roommate always lurked in the Hot Deals forum, and after checking all the forums, I found myself most at home in OT and DC. I've been a member since March.

I was building a computer about two years ago and stumbled across Anands page, purely by accident. I found the forums not too long after that and have been hanging around here ever since.

Digobick,

You're a little off on your time frame. AnandTech was but a dream 4 years ago. He opened with Geo Cities in April, 1997. Didn't have UBB until toward the end of 97, or early 98.

It's been so long I don't even recall how or where I first learned about AnandTech. Seem's like I've been a member since late '98 or early '99. Probably got here via Tom's site.

I started lurking in Anandtech in December 1998 after having seen it mentioned in an article on upgrading (in PC Magazine or PC World). I started posting in June 1999, after I got my computer built.

I don't remember the exact time, but I was looking for a super 7 motherboard. I did a websearch and found Anands review and have been hanging around every since.
I still remember when the "Hot Deals" forum was first started and why. ;)
