I'm sure if you wait like you did with the 570, you'll get a good deal again. It's a new card in short supply. That's not conducive to getting good deals.
yes I know which is the very point I have been making. I bought the card at the worst possible time so I am going to take a massive hit.

I was able to unload my 570 superclocked for $198.50 just yesterday. I was a little disappointed it didn't even fetch $200, but I can't complain because I got that card for $200 off craigslist about 8 months ago. I got my 670ftw today & installed it but I haven't been able to bench it or see where its running stock just yet. I plan to sli it in a few months, but paying $250 instead of $450 (including taxes) definitely helped soften the blow to my wallet. Right now I played some bf3 and temps were at 79 degrees so I want to mess with some profiles a bit later as well. HW monitor only reported 55% at that temp.

I'd be curious to know what your max boost clock is.

GPU-Z showed something like 1085 in the Boost section but that didn't seem right. I ran Heaven v3.0 basic last night at default settings and I think the max on the cores was somewhere around 1200+. I'm at work right now and can't remember the numbers so I'll have to rerun it and actually save the info lol. I don't OC or usually bench my cards, I figure if it runs the games I play well, I know it's working. But I fig'd this is a bad@$$ card so I might as well see how far I can push it. I guess it's time to start reading all the OC guides for gpu lol

1189 below 70 C and 1176 above 70 C is the typical boost for the gtx670 ftw cards.

I returned my 670 due to needing the money for something else. I bought a 460 on the cheap for $85. I seriously can't bring myself to spend anymore than that on a last gen card after playing with the 670. A good overclock is going from 732mhz to 800mhz. A super overclock would be 900mhz. I mean these things are total crap compared to the 670. The 670 I had went to 1270mhz on the core and never went above mid 60's.

Point being that you got yourself a solid upgrade and worth the premium IMO.

what is amazing is the power consumption difference. even with my card oced well past stock gtx680 levels, I am still using 40-50 watts less than the stock gtx570 in most cases.

I got myself the Windforce, I like the temps, performance but there is a humming from the card. It's pretty much all the time, regardless if I'm playing or not. It does not increase in intensity at load, at least not yet.

I'm happy over-all with the card. Boost 1189:thumbsup:

Id say its good to test at everything default in heaven 3.0 so comparison can be made easier. Except that thestrangebrew1 forgot to enable tessellation to "normal" :p

Lol, like I said, I'm new. Maybe I should just start a new thread so not to derail this anymore.

Nah

Its an all together derailed thread now anyways.

Will install my EVGA 670 FTW tonight after work, looking forward to it.

7850 is for sale!! Awesome card too!
