I have an oval dish w/ 3 LNB's and right now a storm rolled in with lots of rain. I lost my picture on the TV.....is this typical?

On a typical day I get in the 90's on the transponder signal tests.

That's typical rain behavior in satellite based systems like that

mine has dropped 3 times for long amounts of time. They have occurred when it was a blizzard(9+" of snow) and 2 monsoons(the last with hail). I have bene pleasantly suprised that it has been albe to keep its signal as much as it does, in fact.

The only time I usually lose a signal is when there is lots of lightning. I am assuming the ionization causes the interferance.

Someone told me once that if you put some sort of coating on your dish that prevents the rain from beading up, the chances of signal loss due to rain is significantly decreased. I forget what coating they used though :/
