I've just seen a couple of them on CNN and they are pretty funny like the one that says that Obama hates babies.

YES! that is the one I am talking about. He was talking about how he didn't want his daughters punished with babies (in the context of a lack of sexual education)

The girl in the ad is so fake and the baby is kind of ugly

How are they any different than the groups attacking Palin's character??

Same mud, different direction.

Her character deserves to be attacked...I have NEVER disliked someone running for public office as much as I dislike Sarah Palin, and mostly that's because I don't just disagree with her on the issues, I don't like anything I've learned about her since she was announced as the VP candidate. I can respect people who like McCain and want to vote for him, but I have a really hard time accepting that people out there think Palin belongs in the White House.

Now I don't like attack ads on McCain's character, but the quantity...and more importantly, the level of hatred, of those ads is far lower.

And hows that different than people like me who feel the same way about BHO as you do about SP. I happen to feel the same way about Biden as you feel about McCain.

It could have something to do with your complete failure to accept proven facts and apply common sense logic in arriving at your conclusions. :light: :Q

If you're basing that on his posts in this thread, you've just proven my point.

Add says:

"What happens when we elect a president who has disregard for human life?"

Last 8 years should be enough for these scumbags to answer their own question.

Who says you have to be "different"? I certainly never claimed my opinion was somehow unique in the world of politics, but given that it's MY OPINION, I think I'm going to go ahead and keep feeling like I'm right and you're wrong, if it's all the same to you.

Because the entire basis of this attack on Obama's character is to take his words out of context and intentionally mislead the listener?

That's not exactly the same mud as when Palin is attacked for her words even in their proper context. Hell, Palin does a better parody of Palin than Tina Fey.

The big issue for me is taking a nice, adult, white woman and healthy white baby to compare against the hypothetical pregnancy of his daughter - the oldest of which is 10 yrs old!

The reality that Obama has seen as a community organizer is that unchecked pregnancy, a culture of single-parenthood, HIV prevalent in the community, and no adoption agency ready to take on a needy black baby put together make a child aburden. Yes, there is a difference. When you have the "pretty white baby", vs. the "damaged goods black baby" (insert crackbaby reference here) - it makes all the difference in the wold. Go look at the average length of time to place a white baby vs a minority one. Look at how few people are willing to take on the challenge. Before throwing stones, take a minute to walk in their shoes...

Let me say for the record that I hate, hate, HATE abortion. It is vile and reprehensible. It is often cold and detached. However, I long for the day when the "anti abortion" group will tell the abstinence-only crowd to drop dead. The real goal of BOTH feminists and anti-abortion activists should be to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies. Thusfar, the "pro life" crowd has been eager to fight Roe v Wade, but way too slow to address the real issue - unplanned pregnancies.

Combine forces - hunt out the real causes of teen pregnancies and you can reduce abortion.

That's all I'd ask.
