Well, I've done the unthinkable, atleast to my fiance. I woke up yesterday morning, was about to get ready for work, and just happened to visit bhphoto.com for no apparent reason. Lo' and behold, the coveted and highly-sought Nikon 18-200 VR lens was in stock! What dumb luck that I had ran across it.
The bad thing? I would need to dip into my wedding/honeymoon savings to purchase it, something my fiance would kill me for. Afterall, it is a $750 lens. I hopped in the shower, thinking it through. I then decided to buy it, so I went through the online motions and bought the damn thing. As I type, it's with UPS, and will be delivered tomorrow morning.
Now, as far as putting money back into the savings, I would need to sell 2 of my current lenses (which I wouldn't need anymore). That wouldn't nearly cover the cost of this new lens, so I'd have to sell my fairly new Xbox 360 package to cover the rest (which should). While I've seriously considered giving up console gaming altogether, as my interest dwindles as time passes, I'm having a hard time wanting to give it up just thinking about some great games that are coming out in the future.
Or, I could sell the lens on eBay for around $100-$200 profit, even though I really, really want this lens. Either way, I'll get the money back to stick back into savings, no problems. I'm leaning heavily towards keeping the lens, as I'm really wanting to get into photography, and this lens is fantastic.
So, I'll let ATOT decide. Which will it be?
