I didn't think Penny would give anyone my DNA.If you've ever handled a penny the government's got your dna.

How nice that people are just freely submitting their DNA.
I didn't think Penny would give anyone my DNA.
I forget sometimes how old I am.
Somewhere, Alky is getting nervous.I did 23 and Me. Should have my results by the end of January. I'm adopted and the family history I do know about is murky, so I'll be interested in the results.
I already call him daddy, so it won't cause much of a change in our relationship.Somewhere, Alky is getting nervous.
It might... but everyone else's will be on there too. The cops could possibly confirm that you recently handled a certain penny (or other object) if they already have your DNA, but a penny on it's own would be a bad source for them to get your DNA and link it to you specifically.
Why government need to have our DNA?
The government uses all kinds of supposedly private information sources for research sometimes selling the data to private companies like Driver's License data. If this data gets into the new Medical Medadata files, then anyone including an insurance company may have access to it.
See, I want to find out something slightly subversive like that.Already did this awhile ago.
I am mostly Ashkenazi Jewish, some western Euro, some Scandinavian, and some native American. My grandmother had a fling with a Jewish doctor that hiding in America during WWII. Someone in the ancestry of that same grandmother had a fling with the Blackfoot tribe. At least that was the story that was passed down to me and is born out by the DNA tests. Other than that most of what I am is Euro/American mutt![]()
Govt. publishes the social security death index, too.

"Hey, dad; did you know you're 1/8 black?"
Just remember it’s not just your DNA that your handing over. I have really wanted to try 23andme but would not do it without it being completely anonymous.

(c) as may be required by law, regulatory authorities, or legal process…
What you think about all of this is up to you. If you find the situation disturbing, there is a remedy. Both Ancestry and 23andMe will delete your DNA information if you ask them to.
Funny you should mention DNA tests - I saw this article today on even more testing options: https://www.wired.com/2016/12/genos-will-sequence-genes-help-sell-science/
TALK ABOUT PARANOID....HAVE ANYTHING TO HIDE.....Lots of places will test your DNA such as Ancestry, MyHeritage, Helix, DNAFamilyCheck and many others. Basically, they send you a package and you swab your check and send it back to them to get some info about your ethnic background and such.
What are the odds that Homeland Security or some other agency has access to all this DNA information? How nice that people are just freely submitting their DNA.
Don't turn off uBlock. Turn on NoScript. Then you can't comment, but you can read the article. The fact I can't read that god damn article without dropping uBlock pisses me off! Talk about a total waist to read the first few paragraphs and then be told I need to disable my AD blocker. Fuck Wired!
