Lesson on suits for the men.

StageLeft

No Lifer
Lilcam's thread gave me an idea. A friend is in late stages of an interview process with a big drug company. He went in to one of the interviews (1 on 1), and the interviewer said that he's not going to hold it against him, but that "I don't want to see you again in a dark jacket with khaki pants.". He said black, navy, or grey is all that's acceptable. Red ties give off authority and blue (I think!) are for wisdom, so try to stay within there. Maybe some others don't agree with that here, but I'd bet most of you, like me, have no clue. So it's a bit of a tip 😉

oh and uhh.. did you button the bottom button? *tsk tsk*

I unbuttoned it after a friend of mine told me about that... before I went out, but after the photo was taken. 😱

*phew*

😉

yeah I never really knew about that until I read a thread on here about it. I learned something useful from ATOT. I like that suit, by the way. Is it a no-name or something nice? Where were you headed dressed up like that?

Does the button rule apply to all kinds of shirts? Like button up sport shirts? I no longer button the first and last one now, but I did before.

What are you talking about? The button rule is for dress jackets and you are not supposed to button the bottom button. If you are not wearing a tie with a dress shirt and the top button is buttoned it does look rather rediculous.

No, not formal wear. I mean just casual button up shirts, like plaid button up ones. Should the last button be left unbuttoned?

You shouldn't button the top button of any shirt unless you are wearing a tie.

if you're not supposed to button the bottom button, what's it there for? 😉
