Hey guys just got a little rant u ma want to read or not i know ill hear alot of you should have known better but oh well.I purchased a r 103a rosewill case with a included 350watt power supply. The system i put together i just a serious budget computer Supermicro p6dbe dual slot1 motherboard,2x 700 pentiumIII cpus,8500 le hercules video card,512 pc100,soundblaser live,10/100 ethernet card ,buslink sata card and a 80gig seagate sata drive.I just get done putting this all together and fired it up all ran fine for about two min then smoke and sparks out if the back of the power supply and then system shutdown i had to quickly unplug the computer and listen to the #$%$@# thing sizzzle.Well after the flames subsided and i got the smoke out of the room i took the power supply out and inspected it at first i wondered if they put anything in there it was about 2lbs and i took the cover off and found out how cheap this thing is i mean im no power supply expert but compared to others i have taken apart to sleeve in the same wattage class it did not even compare.Oh well maybe i just got a bad one but it will be the last rosewill product i buy as it also took my motherboard and sata drive with it,i tried a good p/s i had and now the board and hard drive does nothing oh well like i said a lesson learned .Oh and there we no shorts to the case or anything like that i checked and rechecked.Well if anybody has one of these boards around they would like to get rid of let me know

Seems to always come back to "you get what you pay for." Holds true for just about everything.

those rosewill specs make me nervous. like you, i'm no psu expert, but how do the manage a 10ms hold up time when even cheapies are ~16ms.

the only product i bought from rosewill was a couple of those $20 wireless kb/mouse combos. not my cup o tea but a couple friends of mine liked them. based on the quality of them though i won't be buying any system critical parts from them.

i heard their cases are ok thoguh :)

The pair of Okias that I have had here were unimpressive in the extreme. I've had a 100 Watt PS/2 unit (it's the oldest salvage on hand) with better guts inside and weighed as much. The only more flimsy 450's than an Okia, so far, to cross my path have been Powmax units!

Anyone persisting with the mistaken belief that the cheap parts won't turn around and bite them should look up an article on Directron's site (they sell a lot of power supplies) called "Weight Does Matter".

Actually like I ststed I had excellent results with my OKIA until I put it in my wifes case and bought a name brand PSU!!

I would even bet there are others who still use such PSU`s as the OKIA...etc...but we will never know because those who do if they posted on these forums that they did would most like be laughed off the forums!!!
