Most people know that Leslie Nielsen played the starship captain role in Forbidden planet but we often come across such interesting tidbits regarding other actors & actresses. For example, I have known for a long time that Jeff Goldblum was the rapist gang leader in Death Wish but I just found out he also was in The Sentinel, a 1977 very scary (at least it was when I saw it at the theatre) movie based on one of my favourite horror books. Guess I'm gonna have to watch this film again as it is a veritable cornucopia of famous actors and actresses amongst its cast, many of which were relative unknown back then.

Abbey from NCIS was in an episode of '24' in Season 1 (as a blonde). When Jack's wife gets amnesia after a car explosion, she gives her a ride to a restaurant that seems familiar to her...

Grace Park (from Battlestar Galactica and Hawaii 50) did a brief cameo in the beginning of Romeo Must Die (Jet Li)....This scene is worth hunting down to watch it....TRUST ME!!!!

Cuba Gooding Junior and Louie Anderson were in coming to america.

Cuba was the boy getting a haircut during the scene where Eddie Murphy's three old men characters were bitching about who was better, Rocky Marciano or another fighter.

Louie Anderson was an employee at McDowells

Eriq La Salle (of ER fame) was Darryl Jenks, i.e., the soul glow guy.

Many other well known actors in that movie too, but their roles are more widely remembered, e.g., Samuel L Jackson (McDowell's robber), James Earl Jones (King Jaffe Jafur), Arsenio Hall (Semmi) . . .

Great movie. One of the best comedies of the 1980's. Definitely worth watching if you haven't seen it. It features notable quotes such as:

"The royal penis is clean, your highness!"

"Stay down, you diseased rhinocerous pizzle"

"Give a hand to my band . . . . Sexual Chocolate!"

"If lovin the lord is wrong. . . . I don't want to be right!"

If you check the list of movies she was in as a stuntwoman there's a lot of big movies there -- Speed, the Austin Powers movies, Jurassic Park, etc.

Speaking of Nic Cage . . . while I generally can't stand him, he is the lead in one of my favorite movies of all time, Raising Arizona. Several other well known stars played less remembered roles in that movie, including:

Cool. A friend of mine knows Christian Slater. She met him while walking her dog on the beach in Saco Maine. Their dogs hit it off, and so they became friends. She sees him (not in that way) quite frequently during the summer, when he stays at a family home in the area.
