<<Would you rather pay outragous energy prices?????>>

Would you rather have beach front property in the Appalacians?

Do you really think he's doing this because he's worried about the "outrageous price the American People have to pay for their energy"? Please. It's his favor to energy companies for getting him into office. Clinton gets blowjobs, Bush gives 'em out to the oil industry and gun makers. Take your pick. :disgust:

EDIT

Forgot the NRA-boys.

The excuse about "it would raise prices" is the same one that was used when it was proposed that cars needed to be cleaner. Same one that came up when it was proposed that cars needed to be more fuel efficient. Same one that comes up when anything like this is proposed. What would get accomplished, if that excuse was just accepted every time?

I guess it's up to you, which is more important. The atmosphere or the possible price increase.

(Btw, I don't buy the excuse. These things can be done.)

You don't seem to understand the term,"campaign promises."

I'll take my beachfront property anywhere I can get it.

And another (MORE important) thing...

Did Bush not know about the 'price increase' three months ago? Three months ago it was fine, but now it's not?

Is he a liar, or just an idiot for not knowing what's going on?

A politician lying to get elected? Shocking!

Those who live on the coast: just use your upcoming tax refunds to buy a few sand bags and get to work.

AHHHHH! I hate Bush!!!

This just boggles me even more why anyone voted for him. Bush shouldn't have the power to effect the futur of the planet. Fvck him.

Corporate control of our government is too strong. Support campaign finance reform!

C'mon G.W. Bush fans, which is it?

A) Is G.W. a liar? Did he never have any plans of reducing CO2, but just said it so that he could appear to give a rat's @ss about the environment?

B) Or, is he not bright enough to have foreseen (prior to the election) the "inevitable price increase" that such a plan would incur... And just now came to that realization.

C) Or, is he just a full of crap politician. No different than any other.

I say both A and C.

Do any of you ever even look at the vehicle emmissions report when you get your cars tested? If carbon dioxide were actually a pollutant, why is there NO MAXIMUM limit for your automobile to pass? Carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons both have stringent maximum levels, yet CO2 doesn't even matter to those charged with testing.

Kudos to this administration for not bending over and dropping their pants for the greenie whackos of this world at the expense of the more sensible majority of the population.

Then why did he promise that he would?

Because he knew what people wanted to hear. He never had the intention of doing anything. He lied.

So, Russ, you don't agree that CO2 adds to the greenhouse effect, thereby causing "global warming"?

  • Bush Campaign Issues
    • Environment:
    • Believes environmental standards must be based on sound science, solutions based on market driven technologies. Recognizes that global warming must be taken seriously but will require any decisions to be based on sound science and a thorough cost-benefit analysis, opposes Kyoto protocol.

Supports moratorium against offshore drilling in California and Florida. Opposes breaching dams in Pacific Northwest.
Yep, that's what I voted for!
