Less than stellar 3D Mark scores...

Heres my specs:

P4 1.7 Socket 423
Asus P4T
Samsung 256 PC800
PNY GeForce4 TI4400
IBM 40GIG 60GXP 7200RPM
Windows 2000 SP2

Nothing overclocked and im getting a paltry 8900 on 3DMark 2001 SE. I have the latest drivers for my mobo, vid card, and the rest of the system. Being that my system is on the 'old' side, is that around the type of score I should expect with a TI4400? Can anyone suggest some system tweaks other than the obvious TI4400 overclocking, which im about to try.

i would think that is a normal score for a 1.7 gHz pentium IV. keep in mind that the 1.7 gHz pentium IV is about as fast a 1.2 athlon at most things.
