less (pager) in FreeBSD

Booty

Under Slackware (and other distros I've used) less gives a 'line xx of xx' when reading a file, which I use a lot... but I'm noticing that it doesn't appear to do that under FreeBSD. Is this just because FreeBSD uses a different version, or is there a command line option that I'm missing that perhaps other distros are set up to use by default in the shell init scripts?
