Lepont Atlas SF-201-1 (it's a GREAT aluminum case, better than Lian Li or Coolermaster, so look, please!)

This is an incredibly well-done case. Superior to any other aluminum mid tower, IMO. Review is located here. The only problem is that I cannot find them from anywhere other than the Aus PC Market. Does anyone know of a North American distributor? Otherwise, we can always petition Newegg to carry them, or pay obscene international shipping rates.

They look nice, especially the Lian-Li clone. The door covering the cd-drives on the black case seem to be a good idea at first, but I once had a case that had such door and it ended up annoying me quite a bit.

I have a case that's a different rev of the black one. I went with the door because it blocks out the orange lights from my Yamaha CD-rw and Plextor 40max. The one I got has front USB and sound though. Nice to be able to actually use the 5.25" bays w/ my 8KTA3 (I spent a week looking for a case w/o alot of highth or clearance problems)

Actually, it's an almost exact replica of the PC-60.

The price for this case at a computer show was $160 which is about the same cost, so no big reason to rush out and get one.

I really hate the built in IO port though. It makes the case look very unrefined since youre having wires stick out thorugh the back not to mention you lose a PCI slot. Other than that, If the price came down a bit, I wouldnt mind looking into one.

Uhm, so what makes this case so much better than a Lian Li or Coolermaster???

Mainly, the six standard fans. I have two PC-70s, a PC-69, an ATC-110, and an ATC-201, so I do have experience with Lian Li and Coolermaster.

dang ie6 i posted(what?) this last night but opps i guess it never made it:Q

<< This is an incredibly well-done case. >>

look at the detail just in the glass ie... holes line up not just a sheet placed over the front but frenched to look really good imho i'd rather have this case than the one it looks like made here as the attention to detail on the front(where it matters the most again mho) is far better than any i've seen in a long time.

and it having almost all if not more than the features of the other leading cases well that makes for some cool new choices

ok one last time I LOVE THAT GLASS FRONT woot!!

Its a nice case but not worth the money IMO. I'd prefer to stick with my Lian Li or, if I had that sort of money I'd buy a Coolermaster ATC-210.

Directron's price for it is very appealing, though (about $150).

You can get a Pc-60 USB for same price at allstarshop.com and mpcparts.com and I dont see how It's SO much better than the PC-60.

Those 6 fans only make the system louder which most people on this forum are trying to avoid. I've replaced my ADDA fans w/ a low noise panaflo in the back.

I'm basically a big supporter of airflow, mainly because I'm quite an overclocker, and because I'm fond of 15k RPM SCSI hard drives. I suppose that if you don't overclock or use 15k HDDs that it wouldn't be an issue, and that the PC-60 would be more than adequate.

It does look very nice, but I can't see the need for (well, for me at least) needing that many fans. I'm so used to my SX1000 that I'm spoiled about smaller cases, hehe. I know aluminum conducts heat well and is lighter, but for the lightness, does it give up any stability as in comparison to, say an Antec?

I'm kinda wondering since my next PC is a LAN box and I'm probably going to go for a tiny aluminum case for the sake of not having to lug a 50 pound monolith around with me.

There gets to be a point where you just don't need any more fans...even if you are overclocking and using 15k SCSI drives, an intake and outtake will be sufficient. Usually when stuff starts crashing due to heat, you have reached the limit anyway, and case cooling won't really make a difference.
