so i upgraded my mbp to leopard last week...everything went fine. there are some quirks though, such as expose having a quick second delay before switching to a new window (seeing all windows at once or hiding all windows/desktop is smooth, unless on battery), and sometimes the backlit keyboard not coming on when it goes dark, etc. those things im sure will be fixed in the 10.5.x updates...
the problem lies with memory usage. honestly, with tiger, i RARELY went over 1GB of memory, and i only did if i had a ton of tabs open in firefox, photoshop, adium, mail, and other things open. with leopard, i usually go over 800-900MB just with safari (only at and google are open now), mail, and adium open. i checked activity monitor and safari always ends up using 300MB or more! why? i have no idea...i just go on my regular sites, and even firefox didnt use that much (to begin with).
why is it using so much memory now? "intelligent" memory management just like vista has?
