You shouldn't install MAC on PC otherwise Apple would have made a PC version and mac hardware would be used as a pot plant by the window.

Mac hardware is PC hardware now...Core 2 CPUs, intel chipsets, etc...if you have the right parts it's pretty easy to do.

It's against the terms of the OS X license agreement, but if you're still curious, check out the "Hackintosh" thread in the All Things Apple forum.

Apple has always produced PCs...

Yes, but thats not what apple thinks- they have a personal grudge against IBM, Microsoft and this whole Desktop PC insdustry and they make this thing called MAC as a reflection of their independence, you can see this in Mac vs PC ad's.....whatever it is I am not falling for it :)

Capitalizing PC makes sense because it's an acronym but Mac isn't...

But yea, Apple doesn't help by pushing the Apple/PC thing in their commercials.

And as long as your system doesn't have an Apple logo on it that's what they're shooting for.

SniperDaws,

What I deleted in a prior post was a suggestion that you buy a Mac notebook and load XP on it. I thought that was too facetious so deleted it, but since you bring it up... Just buy a relatively inexpensive Mac notebook. The Mac BootCamp program lets you load XP (or Win 98, I think) in a dual boot scenario with OS X, and the 13.1 inch Mac notebook goes for as little as $1099 (2 GHz CPU)... Might be an easier solution for you.

I don't detest Vista, but after using a Mac here at work for a while I've grown to like Leopard quite a bit. I wish they made systems in between the imac and the Mac Pro. A stand-alone tower that's as powerful as an imac, but with a better video card and allows for the swapping out of hardware. If they made that machine I'd buy one in a second just for the ability to dual-boot Windows and Apple on the same machine without it being a huge hassle.

Its not very hard for power/advanced users, no. I used to have Tiger installed on my Opteron 146 system and I'll soon have it installed on my new Intel rig. Its harder to get everything working correctly with the NF4 AMD stuff, but if you have Intel its pretty much as easy as installing windows.

The only hard part is dual booting and getting it to work correctly

BootCamp is only compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher, which includes Vista. Win 98 (why on earth would that even be compatible?) is not on that list, and is.

IF you are really hankering for some Win98 love on your Mac, then just run it in a Virtual Environment.
