People die every day, peacefully and horribly. People suffer, and people starve. Children die. Nothing will change that inevitable maw. What does matter to me is if a person's death affects me. That's not selfish, that's just reality. If we were informed of every person's death every time someone died anywhere, we'd have no time to live. So I filter my news and my perception of the world to include only notices of death and suffering from those people with whom I have a personal or professional connection (including of course events involving significant numbers of people or political figures).
In this particular case, I have no personal or professional connection with Mr. DiCaprio, and while I feel some modicum of sympathy for him (having a facial scar from a mishap when I was young), I can't bring myself to regard his altercation as worthy of attention.
