I heard some versions had some parts missing.

Some people might be right

Yea, some parts are cut out. Try to find a variant European version, which is completely un-edited.

For example, the scene where the family is murdered, is heavil edited in the US releases.

No, I just saw the Euro version, tha family murder scene is basically identicle.

Whats cut out are the parts where the girl tries suicide, when Leon takes her on a whole bunch of hits with him, and they heavily squash teh relationship between the two in the US release. Can't blame them, a 40+ hitman in love with a 12 year old girl is pretty weird.

Great film, though.

I'm pretty sure the scene where the little brother is killed is almost non-existant in the edited version.

But yeah, I guess you're right, it's not so much the violence as the involvement between Matilda and Leon, and Matilda's actions.

The uncut version will say "Uncut International Version" on it. I'm not sure if the Deluxe version is uncut. It's available from CircuitCity, Bestbuy, Amazon.com, etc.
