would anyone know how to remove a broken screw thats lodged inside its bed in the arm on a pair of glasses? the arm broke off and can't be reattached because the screw got its head broken off when the glasses broke- so basically, i need to get a screw out thats about 3-4 treads long and neither side is protruding from the hole...

lenscrafters tried to remove the screw piece but they couldn't get it -- buying a new pair is a sort of last resort...

i've tried to punch it through with numerous things in an attempt to strip the screw, but no luck.

i was also thinking about heating it up somehow and hoping that the screw wouldn't expand as much as the arm and i would be able to punch it out with some pressure --does that make sense to anyone?

sorry if i didn't explain this very well.

any solutions would be appreciated -- i'm open to try anything

I usually heat up the frame with a hair dryer and then use a small screw extractor to remove the broken screw. If this doesn't work, then I usually use a press with a sharp point to press out the broken screw. Afterwards, I use a self-tapping screw and later break off the exposed ends. I do this about once every month at my optical lab...

So LensCrafters couldn't get the screw out, and they suck. You can't get the screw out either. Doesn't that mean YOU suck too?

Yeah, I thought so.
