Lenox Lewis taps out.

Damn, I was really hoping for a rematch with Klitschko.
LONDON (AP) -- Lennox Lewis retired Friday after a professional career of more than 14 years, the first active heavyweight champion to quit in nearly 50 years.

The 38-year-old boxer said that after months of deliberation he decided to leave the ring rather than defend his WBC title in a rematch against Vitali Klitschko.

``It's a special day in my life,'' Lewis said at a news conference. ``I'd like to announce that June 21, 2003, was my last fight as a professional boxer.''

Is his head still ok ? I think it's a good decision.
I think he knows Vitaly would clean his clock this time, so he's leaving on a high note.

Debateable but I'm not going to start that. I'll just say I don't think Lennox would go into a rematch as under prepared. Just like as he did with Rahman.

He hasn't boxed in over 6 months, I'd hardly consider him "active".

heavyweights don't box very often. that's considered active.

True the most active boxer was Tyson in his hayday he fought "professionally" 2/year

Well to be honest I wanted to see Lewis get his ass kicked, thus his retirement in a bummer. 😛

Lenox Lewis taps out.

This is boxing, shouldn't it be, "Lenox Lewis throws in the towel."

Most professional boxers train for 6 months before a fight, not even considering the vacation they take after the previous fight. That leaves room for 2 matches max per year.

Hmmm....after careful thought and consideration, I'm going to have to go with "Blow me." on this one. 😛

You must sell womens haircare products.

The heavy weight division is in shambles.

Will be interesting to see what happens. All three belts are more or less up for grabs now.

So you are saying it should read "Lenox Lewis Blow(s) me"?

Congrats... I guess
