Lenovo y560 or dell xps15

Part of the reason for no response is the question is about HD video processing, and the two laptops cited are not evenly competitive. You are comparing a $800 machine to a $1200 machine. To compare a Lenovo to the XPS 15, you should look at the Thinkpad series, not Ideapad.

I have processed thousands of digital images on Thinkpads (T60 and T510) but have never done 1 second of video work.

You might get more response from HD video shooters if you rephrase the question and put it in the Digital/Video Camera Forum. That's where the videographers tend to hang out.

Based solely on the choices given, I would point to the Dell XPS 15 I7machine.
