Lenovo U330 or Dell E4300? - Which to get?

The only real different between the two is that the Lenovo is around 4lbs and the Dell is 3.3lbs? Will that make a big difference in real life when I'm carrying it around school?

Should I wait for the Dell or just get the Lenovo now?

Is that Dell really 3.3lbs? It says "Starts at 3.1lbs". Does that include any kind of battery or a CD drive (since it is modular)? If not, it could be about the same mass as the Lenovo U330.

The Lenovo has an ATI 3450 vs. Intel 4500 on the Dell. It also looks like the Dell has a fixed optical where the Lenovo does not.

If I took out the lenovo drive, would it make the laptop a lot lighter? Would it be ok to leave out (any sliding flaps to keep dust out)?

The Lenovo does not have a built in drive, it is only available through the use of a the dock. The weight on the dell must be without the DVD drive and with a 3 cell battery. I believe the Lenovo only has a 6 cell option so equally equipped I think they will be within 1/2 pound of each other.

actually, it does have a built in drive, and the weight with the 6 cell is 4lbs 4oz

you can check out more on my (in process) review over at http://www.jrin.net/2008_09_26...nitial-hands-on-review

Jrin, have you been able to figure out a way to swap the left control key so that it is on the far left? Has the battery life been anywhere near the five hours advertised when using the Intel graphics?
