Hey guys,

I've always loved the T-series, from the T40/41 days (when I bought my Dell 600m only because it was cheaper) to the T61 days now.

Recently Lenovo got rid of the 14.1" 4:3, which was what I loved because not only could you get a decent graphics card with it, you could get a 9 cell battery.

So either I'm stuck with a 14.1 WS or a 15.4 WS. Well, the 15.4 has a Quadro 570 (~8600 equivalent), so it seems quite nice. However, I used to remember the option of being able to stick in a 9 cell battery. Seems that you can only get a 6 cell now. Is this because they're out of stock of the higher capacity ones or simply you can't stick a 9 cell into the 15.4. You can't even get the 7 cell for the 14" WS either. How come? I dunno. Anyone know anything about the T-series?
 
Id love a Tseries....but i dont have the kind of money to get one id really want

as for the battery thing, there was something i read a week or two ago about a battery shortage. perhaps that has something to do with it? i read /., anandtech, dailytech and networkworld, but im not checking them now, im going to bed 😛
 
It must be a battery shortage because I have a 15.4" T61 with the 9 cell. There is a 7 cell for the 14.1" so there must be a shortage for that as well
 
you sure they got rid of the 14.1 inch screen? I thought they did that during the T60 (they did not have it on their website), but I called and they said they had it. They told me that they take away an option when they run low on them and you have call to get it. I guess it could be true for the 9 cell battery too.
 
I'd like to point out that I typed this on my 4:3 T61p. It's a beaut. Call lenovo and ask them whether the model is still available.

T61p is lacking the 14" model.

I might just get a Macbook Pro at this rate. The only thing that's stopping me is really hte 1440x900 resolution. I plan on dual booting Windows and OSX and witha 200gb hd that's more than enough space (I have 1.3 TB of space on my desktop and that's my file storage center anyways). Either that or I get a 14.1" T61 or a 15.4" T61p, and I know I'll be whining about the monstrosity of the T61p soon enough, so I might as well stick with something smaller and lighter like a MBP.
 
Really?....I was gonna get a 14.1 in T61p 2 months ago for traveling while at work. I was gonna pull the trigger, but I then found out that work supplied me with a T61 15.4 inch. It's big (not too much bigger than a 14.1 in).... but anyways, I really had to call and specifically ask for the 14.1 inch when i was buying.
