lenovo shutdown issue

so I owned this laptop for almost 2 weeks now. When I go to shut it off one night it goes through the normal routine of logging me out and shutting down everything but when it shuts off the display the pc kept running. I sat there for 5 minutes waiting for it to turn off but it never did. I had to hold the power button the shut it off. It takes a few seconds to shut down otherwise. Is this a warning sign of something I need to look out for?

a usb mouse and a wireless key board. I shut it down again and it did perfectly fine. I normally hear the fans get louder and louder, like there working harder to cool, until it shuts off (only lasts a few seconds). That normal?

If you disconnect everything USB and make sure there is no disc in the DVD drive before shutting it down, a problem like this could indicate an with the laptop issue.

What kind of software have you added to the Lenovo since you bought it?

And what model do you have?
