Lenovo estimated ship date

Anyone have experience with Lenovo estimated ship dates? Just ordered an X61 because my old viao crapped out on me on the first day of classes (i knew i should have gone with a thinkpad in the first place). Looks like the date is about two weeks out which is fine, but if they miss the date it may cause some issues. They have a good track record of meeting their estimates? Thanks.

Lenovo almost caused me a problem. They shipped a week EARLY without telling me, and I was about to leave on a trip. It just made it the day before I left. It was shipped by air from Hong Kong.

Okay good to know - early won't be a problem for me but I have a couple of deadlines that would make very late delivery an issue. Thanks for the feedback corkyg.

I ordered an x61s on the 16th of August and it's currently in customs with a delivery date of tomorrow the 29th.

That's what, 13 days order to door?

:thumbsup: Sounds good to me. Good to know Lenovo is carrying on the Thinkpad tradition. Also, noticed that the 10% off deal I got yesterday expired and was replaced by a 25% off sale today. Called up and got the price adjusted no problem. Another :thumbsup:.

Update: Estimated ship date came and went today with no update to my order status. Order has been "In Process" for 17 days now without any change. Guess tomorrow will be call Lenovo day. Sadly, I may have to cancel the order and pick up something locally.

EDIT: ESD now changed to 10/3... never received an email notification of a delay, date just changed on the order status page.... ugh.
